Showing their passion for community, members of Highstreet’s Oracle Practice teamed up with their client counterparts to volunteer at FOOD for Lane County in Eugene, Oregon. FOOD for Lane County is a non-profit organization driven to alleviate hunger through the process of creating better access to food.
Highstreet’s team (Henry Tran, Tim Graham, Russ Elliot, and Tom Milliron) sorted hundreds of pounds of donated food that had been recovered from hospitals, schools, and restaurants. Once sorted, the prepared, but not served, food is packed into family-sized portions and distributed through food pantries, shelters and meal sites to a diverse population of people living on limited incomes.
“I’m so proud to belong to an organization that gets involved in the communities where we work,” said Henry Tran, a Project Manager at Highstreet. “Hunger is a huge issue nationwide and affects every community, so every effort we can give means a lot not only to the community but to the non-profit organizations that often run behind the scenes.”
