From the PeopleSoft Technology Blog: Matthew Haavisto | Senior Principal Product Manager
Oracle’s Secure Enterprise Search (SES) will no longer be an option with PeopleSoft. As of May 1, 2018,
Elasticsearch is the only search engine supported for PeopleSoft 9.2 applications and it is the only search engine that can be used with PeopleTools 8.56. No new instances of Oracle Secure Enterprise Search should be deployed as the search engine with the PeopleSoft Search Framework.
Starting May 1, 2018, Oracle will provide sustaining support for SES as the search engine for PeopleSoft, which includes access to Oracle support analysts, previously delivered updates and published knowledge articles, but does not include any new CPUs, patches or certifications.
Oracle recommends that customers move to Elasticsearch as soon as possible. Customers on PeopleTools 8.55 still using SES can migrate to Elasticsearch without downtime using the Live Cutover Functionality delivered by PeopleSoft Search Framework.
Oracle/PeopleSoft provides a wealth of information on deploying Elasticsearch with PeopleSoft. A good place to start is the Search Concepts page on peoplesoftinfo.com. That page contains useful information and links to other valuable content like the Elasticsearch page on My Oracle Support.
In addition, Oracle/PeopleSoft continues to enhance our Search capabilities with the Elastic products and our PeopleSoft Search Framework. Look for updates in the near future.
