Florida State College at Jacksonville, a Highstreet Oracle/PeopleSoft Campus Solutions client since 2015, has made the move to be first the Florida institution to implement Oracle’s Student Management Cloud for Continuing Education.

Established in 1966 as Florida Junior College, FSCJ changed its name in 1986 with the expansion of community colleges throughout the country. Today, it serves over 52,000 currently enrolled students in four major physical campuses and several additional centers located around the First Coast region.
Having previously helped FSCJ with their Campus Solutions 9.2 upgrade and provided ongoing support for their Campus Solutions system, Highstreet and FSCJ have laid the groundwork for a successful partnership through this transformative project. With a four-phase implementation, that includes a phase 1 go-live slotted for January, Highstreet and FSCJ are hard at work trying to get helpful functionality to students.
This effort will prove to be a huge step for FSCJ’s application modernization while also setting a precedent for other colleges and universities globally. The ability for higher education institutions to realize the value of Oracle’s SMC solution while simultaneously running their current PeopleSoft Campus Solutions systems opens up endless possibilities for them and provides them with a flexibility to transition to the cloud in a strategic way. Whether the goal is to mitigate the impact to budget or provide a quick win for a portion of the student system, the flexibility of the Oracle solutions and seamless integrations provide institutions with the control they want as they determine the best way to modernize their ERP system.
While there are many reasons FSCJ is undertaking this project, the paramount motivation is their students’ experience. FSCJ elaborates:
Florida State College at Jacksonville is engaged in a project focused on improving the enrollment experience of CWE students, which will support the growth of short-term training programs and classes. We are working with Highstreet as our implementation partner on this project, which utilizes both Oracle PeopleSoft Campus Solutions and Student Management Cloud.”
Oracle’s best-of-breed products have been and continue to be innovations for businesses globally. Highstreet is excited to be chosen as the partner for FSCJ’s digital transformation as they pave the way forward as business leaders and higher education innovators. The ability for FSCJ to successfully leverage Oracle PeopleSoft Campus Solutions alongside their new Student Management Cloud for Continuing Education system is an encouraging and exciting win for Oracle, Highstreet, and Higher Education.
