Illinois Central College Adopts Cloud & Highstreet’s Managed Services

Illinois Central College Adopts Cloud! Illinois Central College (ICC) has partnered with Highstreet IT Solutions to migrate their PeopleSoft solution to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). This initiative, launched on October 23^rd, will allow ICC to leverage their limited staff, focus on more strategic initiatives, and transform their business with a modern application that offers scalability and growth.

Illinois Central College is a community college system with their largest of three campuses located in East Peoria, Illinois. They are the seventh largest community college in Illinois and offer over 1,400 courses each Spring.[1] With a total enrollment of 8,875[2] ICC brags small class sizes that averages to only 15[3] students. As part of their core mission to provide access to a college education to everyone, ICC offers five unique learning paths in 19 different fields: Occupational Certificates, Applied Science Degrees, Associate Degrees, Professional and Continuing Education, and Recreational Learning. Their Recreational Learning programs are unique because they offer a program called College for Kids which allows children and families the opportunity to learn while leaving behind the pressure of earning a grade and credit.

Currently using PeopleSoft, ICC has chosen Highstreet to assist with the transition to OCI while also leveraging Highstreet’s Managed Services offering. This move eliminates ICC’s expensive, and difficult to maintain on-premises solution and frees up their staff to focus on their students and strategic business initiatives. The targeted go-live in March of 2021 can’t come soon enough!

As the cutting-edge Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions continue to improve, the drive to move to a cloud solution becomes stronger. Many clients, like Illinois Central College, are leveraging a public cloud solution, like OCI, along with a partner like Highstreet who provides application managed services for their ERP software. This move to the cloud becomes a stepping stone for clients, allowing them to free up resources, take advantage of their modernized hosted system and work toward a roadmap to their SaaS solution.
