Local governments in Minnesota are facing a number of challenges, including increasing demands on services, shrinking budgets, and aging technology. Oracle Cloud applications can help address these challenges by improving efficiency, productivity, and service to citizens. Local Government Information Systems, or LOGIS, a consortium of local governments in Minnesota, has chosen Highstreet as their trusted partner to provide Cloud for Minnesota Governments. The project, which began in January 2023, involves the implementation of Oracle Cloud applications for LOGIS headquarters, which acts as a managed services provider for its members, and its 25 member entities, with a model designed to allow for future entities who choose to participate.
Introducing LOGIS
LOGIS was founded in 1972 by a collection of local MN governments. They shared the goal of saving money and improving operations through the sharing of technology resources. Today, there are over 50 LOGIS member governments including cities, counties, school districts, and other public agencies. Their mission is to โFacilitate leading edge, effective and adaptable public sector technology solutions through the sharing of ideas, risks, and resources in a member-driven consortium.โ
Benefits of Oracle Cloud for Local Governments
LOGIS members have been on a legacy system for many years and thus have lived with the realities of antiquated technology, including extensive manual processes, reliance on spreadsheets, lack of automated workflows and approval processes, etc. Oracle Cloud will eliminate these pain points and provide LOGIS members with a modern, innovative platform that will help them to improve their efficiency, productivity, and service to their citizens.
In addition to the new ERP and HCM applications, Highstreet is partnering with SpryPoint to implement a utility billing solution for specific entities, with SpryPoint managing the bulk of the implementation and Highstreet providing project management and governance. The new utility billing solution will provide LOGIS members with a more efficient and cost-effective way to bill their customers for water, sewer, trash, and other services.
Highstreet was selected for this project because of its proven track record of success in implementing Oracle cloud-based solutions for local governments. Highstreet has a deep understanding of the unique needs of local governments and a proven ability to deliver successful projects on time and on budget. This partnership will offer many benefits for local governments, including:
- Increased efficiency: Cloud-based solutions automate many of the manual processes that are currently used by local governments, which frees up staff time to focus on other tasks.
- Improved productivity: Cloud-based solutions provide local governments with a more modern, user-friendly interface that makes it easier for them to complete their work.
- Enhanced collaboration: Cloud-based solutions provide local governments with a central platform for sharing data and collaborating on projects.
- Improved decision-making: Cloud-based solutions provide local governments with access to real-time data and analytics, which helps them to make better operation decisions.
