Supporting Partnerships
Ara Barkhordari, a former student of Glendale Community College of California, has spent the past year gaining on-the-ground experience in Computer Science. As Computer Science major, and a self-proclaimed “gym rat” Ara, in his spare time, seeks out challenging pursuits. “I go camping a lot…. I just like to be competitive, and I think that’s the main reason that I started all of my hobbies.”
After earning his Associates degree from Glendale Community College, Ara enrolled as a student at California State University of Northridge to continue his education. With a focus on computer engineering specifically, Ara decided to attend CSU because of their great value and affordability.
At the time of Ara’s enrollment, Highstreet was working with Glendale Community College to support their PeopleSoft Campus Solutions. It was a priority for Highstreet to support students in a personal way—not merely through a streamlined Financial Aid process. As a promising young developer and a student at GCC, the relationship was destined to be. Ara joined the Highstreet team as a student Intern.
“As a product of a college internship focusing on ERP applications for Higher Education as well, I am pleased to see Ara succeed and excel in Highstreet’s internship program. Ara has been a model intern and sets the standard for his peers. We are looking forward to helping him with his career progression at Highstreet.“

Dedication to Clients and their Students
Since joining Highstreet, Ara has supported seven Higher Education projects including Lorain County Community College, Academy of Art University, American University of Antigua, Eastern Gateway Community College, Northwest Mississippi Community College, William Carey University, and Spring Arbor University. He has gained valuable experience implementing Oracle’s Student Financial Planning Cloud product for each of these clients and will graduate with real-world software development experience in his field of study.
When asked what advice he would offer to future interns Ara said this, “Do the hard work, take the pain, trust the process, and never be afraid.”
Ara has brought much to Highstreet by helping our Higher Education clients deliver improved services to their students. Graduating in the spring of 2022 and working with Highstreet in the meantime, Ara plans on continuing on with Highstreet after college.
